Anthony S. Kazakevicius has been appointed director of sales and marketing at the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad effective September 21. He joins CSS from the Indiana Harbor Belt, Hammond, Ind., where he had been assistant director of business development since 2013.
Based at South Shore’s Michigan City, Ind. headquarters, Mr. Kazakevicius will report to Eric Jakubowski, vice president and chief commercial officer at Anacostia Rail Holdings, South Shore’s parent company, replacing Greg Dougherty. “We thank Greg for his years of service and dedication,” Mr. Jakubowski noted.
“Tony is bringing more than 20 years of diverse rail marketing experience to the South Shore,” Mr. Jakubowski said. “His solid understanding of Midwest customers and commodities will help CSS grow its business base.”
“I am very excited to join the South Shore team and expect to provide high impact results for the South Shore and its customers,” said Mr. Kazakevicius.
Mr. Kazakevicius previously served as senior manager marketing at Indiana Rail Road from 2006 to 2013, manager marketing and sales at Rail America from 2002 to 2006, and manager of pricing at Iowa Interstate Railroad from 1997 to 2001.
Mr. Kazakevicius has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marian University, Indianapolis, Ind.
